If you’re on the fence about using a crowdfunding platform (might I suggest TuneFund?) to fund your next project, here’s all the evidence you need to take the dive. Recently, my friends in the Beautiful Bodies decided they wanted to make a new record. Like most of us out there, they had no funds despite getting John Feldman to agree to produce their record. So what did they do?
They turned to Kickstarter to set up their own crowdfunding campaign.
The most ingenious part of their campaign was the prizes associated with backing levels. I was a personal fan of The Devil Lock Package. Donate $666 to their campaign and you not only get a ton of free goodies, but you also get a lock of bassist Luis’ hair. While no one actually ponied up for that level, I love that they did something unique with their prize levels. And once they set up the capaign, they hit social media hard to make sure all their friends and family knew what they were up to. Thanks to crowdfunding and their tireless work promoting their campaign, the Bodies were able to reach their funding goal of $10,000 and then some. So, with that as proof it’s possible, don’t you think it’s time to start your own campaign?
